Hello, and welcome to my blog! My new baby and mini-obsession. I’ll be honest, I have no idea what I am doing and really wish I paid more attention in middle school computer class. Alas, here we are. It’s taken me way longer than it should have to teach myself super basic stuff like how to add a contact page, customize a theme, and set up an email list. My sister calls me a “millennial boomer” because I am that technology-illiterate and get majorly overwhelmed by the littlest thing. I like to think its not true, but it kind of is. People at work know if anything goes wrong with my laptop, I just cannot handle it.
Anyway, I love to learn new things so I’m taking it one step at a time (cue the absolute Jordin Sparks banger), and going for something that is really meaningful to me. If you’re wondering what this is even about, or what “Isn’t She Stellar” even means, then you’re in the right place.
What was the inspiration for starting this blog?
I’m in a season of life where I feel really “stuck.“ It’s frustrating, and tiring, and most days I feel like I’m just wasting my time. For a while, I had no idea what I wanted or how to go about fixing it.
Then, I did something I had been completely ignoring for a really long time: I started listening to my intuition. It was telling me (more so screaming) that something wasn’t right. I listened a little harder and realized it was also telling me two big things I wanted:
1. I wanted to write a book one day.
I love a good story. Show me a solid plot with strong character arcs and authentic reflections of the human condition and I’m 100% hooked. From a young age, I’ve always loved reading (I’m a total Hermione) and have binge-watched wayyy too many TV shows (seriously, I might have a problem).
Eventually, that voice whispering in my head grew so loud it said, “Celeste, if you get to your death bed and never tried to write a book, you’re going to regret it.” Wow. A bit morbid, but talk about a wake-up call. At the time, I had no idea where this voice came from but I knew I had to listen. The thought of one day dying with that regret was too heartbreaking, so I had to do something.
But what? How do you start doing something you’ve literally never done before? Not once have I ever even tried to write anything creative, and I know absolutely nothing about the publishing world beyond what they show on Younger (idk why but I can’t stop watching this show. Again, I have a TV addiction).
It took me a long time (literally five years), but I’ve decided that I don’t care about not knowing what the f*ck I’m doing and that I’m just going to start anyway.
2. I wanted to live a life I could be proud of.
In order to go after this seemingly insane dream, I knew I had to completely change my mindset and my overall approach to life. What I’ve been doing has not been working, and I wasn’t going to make it with the perspective, values, and priorities I was living by.
I also wanted to break the belief that “if I do this thing, then I will be happy.” Happiness is not a checklist, it’s a lifestyle—one that’s grounded in a mindset that I want to have, and need to have, right now. That means investing in myself and doing some major self-work.
So, it’s decided. I’m going to do just that—and write about it! Crazy, right? It’s kind of a two-birds-one-stone sort of thing. It’s definitely not going to be easy. Changing stuff up never is. My writing is absolutely going to suck at first, but I’ll keep practicing, learning, and eventually I’ll get better. My self-work isn’t going to be perfect. I’ll definitely still have moments where I doubt myself (like if starting a lifestyle and self-work blog is a seriously stupid idea), but I’ll work at it every day, keep learning, and eventually I’ll get better.
I believe you can, too, with whatever it is you want to go for in life. Anyone can. Growing up, my dad used to tell me, “you can do anything you set your mind to.” I always looked at it like a supportive dad-thing to say (thanks, Dad), but now, I’m choosing to believe it. Whatever it is, set your mind to it, put in the work, and shine.
So, what is “Isn’t She Stellar”?
Obviously, finding the right name for a website is a big deal (at least I think so) and I really wanted mine to reflect both a part of myself and the essence of what you can read about here. The “myself” part comes from my name, and the “essence” part comes down to what this blog is all about:
- Finding the courage and confidence to go after what you want in life
- Not being afraid to pursue your passions
- Focusing on what energizes and fulfills you
- Understanding that you have everything within you, right now, to go after your goals and live the life you want
- Investing in yourself because you are worth nurturing and prioritizing
- Having a clear vision of where you are going and who you want to be
- Letting go of what doesn’t serve you (namely other people’s version of success, happiness, and opinions about what you should be doing)
- Asking yourself what you want from life and designing your own happiness
- Living a life you’re proud of—boldly and without regret
All of this is about building a sustainable, balanced lifestyle through focused and intentional self-work. The best part is you don’t have to do it alone! This is a place to learn and grow together; to support each other and celebrate accomplishments big and small. Invest in yourself, believe in your vision, commit to your goals, put in the work, empower your mindset, and encourage others.
She who does that is stellar.

Write that book! I’ve also been feeling kind of “stuck.” I think you’re right that a way out of that is to actively and passionately pursue dreams that have always been there. I’m excited to see what you create!
Thank you!! Honestly, taking your writing workshop was like a whole new world to me. Please let me know if you do any others & I’ll sign up ASAP. Feeling stuck can get draining, especially if you let it go unchecked for too long. Let me know how you’re doing – we can help each other! So excited to read what you put out into the world.
This was a wonderful read. I am in the same place as you….stuck! Giving yourself some time and some self love can take you in a journey that you never thought was possible. And….if you have a story to share…..share it!
Thank you for the lovely comment! This made my day. I appreciate you taking the time to read. And, couldn’t agree more: time and self love is key. I would love to learn more about your story & hopefully we can get unstuck together! Send me a note on Facebook or Instagram @isntshestellar! I also just published a new post about 3 steps for getting unstuck that walks through a few things I’ve learned so far. Would love to learn more if you have ideas 🙂
