(“That girl” rebranded. Want to know what it means to be stellar? Click here.)
Gals, Girls, and Gworls—
It is time to start up-leveling our mindsets, tuning out the junk, and being the main character in our own success story in 2022. In my opinion, this is the true essence of “hot girl” activity (for some real talk on that, check this out). If you’re struggling to master your mindset, or need to surround yourself with more positive influences in your up-leveling journey, subscribing to some stellar girl podcasts is a great way to start.
My mom and my Abuela always told me growing up “dime con quien andas y te dire quien eres.” This is an old Spanish refrain that translates to: tell me who you walk with and I’ll tell you who you are. Now, there are so many different ways to interpret the meaning here, but I choose to look at it in way that many of us have heard before:
Surround yourself with people who are doing what you want to do, and you will become them.
If you want to get somewhere in life, you will get there 10x faster by absorbing the lifestyles, mindsets, habits, and lessons learned with people who are going in the same direction you are. This goes hand in hand with some of the most powerful lessons I ever learned in my consulting career: If you don’t want to be where they are one day…then why are you listening to their advice?
It’s time to get aligned with the stellar womxn out there making moves, taking care, creating generational wealth, and up-leveling the sh!t out of their lives. Isn’t she stellar??
As our fearsome leader, Shania Twain, says: let’s go girls.
My Mindset Go-To’s:
These are my ride-or-die podcasts. I listen to these girls every week and credit them with helping me take the terrifying leap in taking a year-long sabbatical to invest in my mental health & future success. Isn’t She Stellar wouldn’t be here without them. If you only look at one list—check these out.
For The FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) Fiend:
Health and well-being also means financial health. Being financially independent is crucial for up-leveling your life and taking charge of your success story. Whether you’re goal is to be FIRE or not, these gals are my absolute favorites for upgrading your money mindset, breaking down complicated or intimidating aspects of personal finance into easy-to-digest and actionable steps, and providing financial advice THAT MAKES SENSE FOR WOMXN—including BIPOC communities. Seriously, Wall Street Chad can go kick rocks.
For The Career Queen:
My career-focused besties will love this one. It’s a Canadian podcast I recently stumbled upon but love the community they have built. I highly recommend their newsletter, too.
For The Side Hustler’s and Future Entrepreneurs:
Gworls, let’s say it together: multiple. streams. of. income. How Stellar. After living through the pandemonia, and literally every other world catastrophic event over the last few decades, I think its suuuuper safe to say that having multiple sources of money coming in is a great way to minimize risk and maximize independence. Whether you want a little bit of spending cash on the side, or if you want to build your own empire, you go girl. Get your bag.
For the Feel Good Moments:
These podcasts feel like a warm hug. Sometimes, the podcasts I’ve mentioned before can feel really intense (particularly when I’m going through a rough spot) and I just don’t have the energy for it. That’s when I’ll pop these on and just enjoy the vibes and company.
For Powerful Changes:
If you’re ready to dig deep and feel inspired, these are just for you. I love the meaningful conversations on here, the psychology insights, and the way these podcasts can really help us think about the bigger picture. Amazing role models and mentors here if you’re looking for some amazingness to look up to.
My Guilty Pleasure:
Okay so one of these things is not like the others… but, this podcast is the one I am unashamedly binginggggggg right now. Is true crime addicting? Yes. Hear me out though: these hosts do an amazing job of breaking down cases in a way that address systematic issues and highlight the absolute essential need to have safety skills. It’s alarming when you get into the nitty gritty of violence against womxn (as, uncoincidentally, most of these cases fall into), and Ashley and Brit are always there to teach you their “crime junkie rules” and tips. If there is anything I’ve learned from my hours of binging, is that practicing personal safety is 100% stellar girl activity.
On My List:
These are the podcasts I’ve downloaded but haven’t actually gotten around to listening yet. But, check these out for more stellar girl influences.
- On Purpose with Jay Shetty
- Hack Your Time with Vikki Louise
- She’s On the Money
- Almost 30 with Krista Williams & Lindsey Simick
- At the End of the Tunnel with Light Watkins
- The Bossbabe Podcast
- Purely Being: Guided Meditations & Energy Activations
And, as always…
Invest in yourself, believe in your vision, commit to your goals, put in the work, empower your mindset, and encourage others. She who does that is stellar.
